ArtConnects ArtConnects brings together established and new immigrant communities to build understanding. We use the arts as a tool for dialogue and engagement. We mix film, music, spoken word, community and experts in the fields of immigration, and/or specific to the topics we’re discussing. Our first event is scheduled for September 10 at 6pm in the Neighborhood House Performance Space and will be focused on issues in the Spanish speaking, African/Somali and Hmong communities. Funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Healthy Together program.
Immigrant Stories Revealed
Every story has a setting -- the time and space in which events take place. Immigration is one of the biggest challenges our nation faces; we must stop to listen and tell our immigrant stories of the past and present -- the time is now, and the space is all around us.
A twenty-six minute DVD documenting the experiences of new arrivals in the United States, Immigrant Stories Revealed can be ordered by calling 651.789.2567 or by email. Cost is $15.
The study guide is free and can be downloaded here.
