English Language Learner, GED, and Children's Literacy
Neighborhood House provides new opportunities and options for the immigrant, refugee and native English speaking populations. Our programs focus on four main components: English Language Learner (ELL), General Education Development (GED), and Children's Literacy with a variety of supplemental programs that strive to reinforce and support the learning goals of our participants. All of our courses are taught by both paid and volunteer teachers and are guided by our state recognized, learner-centered curricula.

America Guerra is a motivated and energetic woman. This past summer, America enrolled in GED classes at Neighborhood House with the goal of furthering her education. After four months of classes and independent study, she passed the GED battery. America plans to become a veterinary assistant. Congratulations, America, and best of luck!
