Pohlad Family Foundation Helps During a Time of Need

Visits to the
Neighborhood House Food Shelf were up nearly 30% in the last two months of
2008. In the first few months of this year, demand grew even more. Some weeks, 40% of requests to visit the food
shelf could not be accepted.
Aware of the
impact the economic downturn was having on the community, the Pohlad Family
Foundation pledged to help maintain critical nonprofit services for families. Neighborhood
House was fortunate to be one of the nonprofits chosen for this critical aid.
This gift from the Pohlad Family Foundation provides assistance during the
current economic crisis and will fund two temporary staff positions in the
Neighborhood House Food Shelf, allowing us to serve an additional 160 families
a week. The gift also allowed us to maintain a temporary position
in the Youth Leadership program, which is also seeing a significant increase in
visitors.
Thank you,
Pohlad Family Foundation.
